We had our first official Kretchman family reunion at the beginning of the month. It's been about 2 years since we last saw Scott, Laura, and Rylan. The last time we were actually all together was at Scott and Laura's wedding (Anna had never even met Rylan before! Since she was on her mission or at school the last two times we got together). It was so fun to all be together and to watch the little cousins play together. Shae and Rylan are only 4 months apart, but funny as it may seem, Belén and Rylan were actually the ones that hit it off so well. They were non-stop playing together, it was pretty adorable. Shae had the older Aunt and Uncle crew to entertain him with games of Sorry and Battleship and endless Pokemon talk. He even convinced both Ammon and Philip to give him quite a huge stack of their old Pokemon cards. He was in heaven.
Here's a few family shots that Philip/a remote control with Philip's camera took for us.
Watching the movie Leap on the way to my parents. He still covers his ears just about anytime there is a mischievous kid on screen.
The rest of the Kretchman clan (Scott, Laura, Rylan, and Ammon) arrived Tuesday night, just as we were getting a bonfire going. The kids loved helping throw sticks in to make the fire bigger.
I've been so obsessed with s'mores this summer. I think I've eaten more s'mores this summer than any other summer with our camping trips and bon fires at my parents. Plus the s'mores bars and s'mores cookies I've been obsessed with. The s'more. The greatest summer medley of flavors. Mmmmm so good.
We were all together for about 2 1/2 full days before Scott, Laura, and Rylan had to take off. The first day we went to the zoo. It poured on us while we were covered eating lunch, but other than that, we were lucky not to get rained on while on the safari tour or walking around to see the animals.
A few more pics I stole from Philip, and then some of my own.
I especially like this one of these little cousins.
Love this daring little lady. She is fearless.
Shae a little less so. But I love him too.
This petting zoo area was FULL of pregnant goats!
We thought about going to play at the lake our second day there, but the kids were having so much fun playing around the house and my parents had some activities planned so we decided to just hang out. My mom tie-dyed shirts and banderas with the kids.
My dad set up a little Frisbee golf game with boxes and tree stumps all over the backyard.
He also made sure to dance along with the kids while dancing to the Kid Bops Fight Song video on Youtube that Darin's mom showed us while we were in Boston. They are obsessed with it, as well as anything Pop-see-ko.
One of the nights we were there the girls snuck away to a bridal shower for Anna. Here she is choosing which plastic cup cake she prefers.
Playing family games are some of my favorite memories from my younger years, so of course there were plenty of games at the reunion. We had so much fun playing Quiplash on the TV super late one night that Rylan fell asleep on the couch by my dad before they could get back to the hotel. It was adorable.
There was also a lot of fun had in the little kiddie pool out back. Here I am with my always-a-ninja buddy.
Klondike bar mess to finish things off before people started taking off.
So glad we were all able to get together!
