January Little Things

Belén is loving her gymnastics class

We took a trip up to Palmyra one Sunday in January for our at-home church. The lesson that week was about the angel Moroni visiting Joseph Smith about the Book of Mormon, so we figured it was a good week to actually go and walk around the Hill Cumorah. Good other than all the snow that is. I don't know why I naively thought any of the paths up to the hill would be shoveled. They most definitely were not, so we trudged through the snow up the hill.

I wanted to get a picture of our family in front of the temple, but the gates were closed, so this was the best we could do.
We didn't get to go inside of the Smith Family homes, but there was a senior missionary couple doing tours that let us take some peeks inside which was nice.
We were all FREEZING by the time we got to the walk way of the Sacred Grove and decided a picture in front of the woods would be better than walking all the way up and through. I do feel bad though because Belén had mentioned how excited she was to do her own prayer in the woods.
These kids are obsessed with all things Mario right now.
Afternoon sledding with mom while the baby naps at home with dad.

Sunday afternoon stroll on top of the ice of Dryden lake.

This dad is seriously the coolest.
So much sourdough baking in January! This is what our counter looked like one night as we went to bed. My just fed starter, along with overnight sourdough waffles and artisan sourdough bread in the works for baking the next day.
These sourdough Asiago bagels were not a bad idea.
We are currently obsessed with this artisan sourdough bread.
Another little Sunday afternoon stroll to Treman State Park.
