4 Months

Weight: 15 lbs. 7 oz
Height: 25 inches

I love that she keeps coming in right between Shae and Belén on her stats. Shae was 15 lbs. 5 oz and 23.5 inches at 4 months.

Belén was 17 lbs, 27 inches at 4 months.

Oh she is just the sweetest, happiest little thing.

She has become a big fan of splashing around in the bathtub.

Always sucking on those two fingers, and drooling like crazy.
Getting some boppy time in with me while I cook.
                                                            First Sunday at church.

We switched her out of the pea pod swaddle that we had been using and tried out this new swaddle sack that we had heard really good things about. It lets her arms have more freedom, but still has the tightness of a swaddle and helps calm the startle reflex that so often wakes babies up.

The first time we used it, I hated it. Having her arms up by her cheeks just seemed to wake her up. But we stuck with it for a couple nights and it has been amazing. Maybe it was just coincidence, but around the time we switched swaddles, she began to need less and less help going to sleep. We were able to put her down in her crib knowing that she would fall asleep on her own, and sometimes even soothe herself back to sleep after waking up.

She finally has a predictable bedtime! Which is SO NICE. She usually goes down right around 8 p.m. with the other kids. Wakes up once or twice in the night (lately twice, around 12:30 and 4:30), and then wakes up for the day sometime between 8 and 9 a.m.

She usually goes about 2 hours between naps, give or take. Usually taking a morning and afternoon nap that last for about 1 to 2 hours, and then a short 30-45 minute evening nap around 6 p.m. If we go out for the day it usually tends towards more shorter naps.

Pushing for good crib sleep at home has been wonderful, with the one down side of her not napping very well when we are out and about.

She won't suck on a pacifier or a bottle, but she sure does like the taste of that arm flap.

Her siblings are always playing something on her.

Or pretending something with her, ahem, sleeping.

There's also lots of, "Mom! Take a picture of me and Emmy!"

"And now another one with our bears!"

She is SO close to rolling over, just can't get past the arm that is on the ground.

Breaking my heart with the vaccines at her 4 month check up.

Overall, we are just insanely head over heels for this baby.
