Third Day in Bali

I forgot to include this picture in my last post, from our boat ride home. Poor Belen was still a bit anxious after our Thousand Island (super bumpy) boat trip. It was impressive to see her find a safe zone and stick to it. She spent the entire 30-40 minute boat ride home in the below position. We kept asking if she wanted to sit on one of our laps and she just kept saying no, and then did not move. When we finally got to land she sat up and said, "My arms hurt."
Now on to day 3:

After two early mornings, it was really nice to take it a little slower our third day. We enjoyed the amazing buffet at breakfast, especially the pastries. I promise I did not eat all of these by myself...
Playing some chess before we leave the hotel.
We checked out of our hotel down in the southern part of the island and headed up to central Bali. I couldn't get over this massive statue that we kept seeing while driving around. SO BIG.
We made a quick stop at the Sarawasti temple

Then went to the Tegalalang rice terrace. The rice terrace was so beautiful. We wandered around the terrace for a bit taking in its beauty.

We watched some adventurous people on bikes and swings.

After the rice terrace we went to the Tirta Empul temple. Loved seeing all these ladies walking around carrying things on their heads.

It was really cool to learn about Hinduism and see so many beautiful temples and statues.

Three year old entertainment outside the restaurant window while we waited for our dinner in central Ubud.
We had to try some Ubud gelato before calling it a night. Belen, of course, chose the pink ice cream, which ended up being Rose Petal flavor, not the usual strawberry. She said she liked it and ate up the entire thing. I thought it tasted like it should be in a cosmetic isle at Target. Not my favorite. The honeycomb hit the spot for me.

And then off to our villa hotel to clean up after a hot and sweaty day. The kids were really in to this rock shower.
