November Little Things

We went from fall leaves to...

...winter snow pretty quickly

She's so ready to be the one driving the car.
Belen and I spent a couple hours at the mechanic one morning. I didn't love being THERE necessarily but it was so sweet to draw and do workbooks with her. One of those everyday life gratitude moments where you just want to bottle up all the feelings and save them forever.
October/November were the months of sleep walking. 10 p.m. on the dot.
I love watching Darin do puzzles. He just gets so in to them.
We went with our friends to Binghamton to check out a Discovery Center while the kids were out of school on Veterans Day.

The kids had their primary program. I was called as the primary chorister about 6 weeks earlier so I also had a big role in the program this year. I'm not a very musical person and feel like I have no idea what I'm doing about 95% of the time, but the kids were great. Our sweet neighbor came, as well as a little girl and her mom that Belen invited from her preschool.
Not the best pic of Belen, but her little friend brought her flowers which was just adorable.
Another day, another Art for Kid Hub art challenge. Dora and the Lost City pictures.

Took Belen to Ithaca College for a child development study. Nice, easy way to get some gift cards for helping the students while Belen plays.

It's been a looooong time since we got to go to the temple together. Such a nice morning out.

After our Christmas that didn't feel like Christmas in Indonesia last year, we were all very anxious to get our tree and decorations out. We made it until mid-November before we just HAD to put it up. We'd already been listening to Christmas music for a couple of weeks by that point (even Darin! SHOCKING)

The kids did their first sessions of swim lessons since being back. Always fun to watch them swim.

Sick Belen = very cranky and clingy to mom Belen.
She's always up to something silly.
We saved up our gift cards from taking YouGov surveys so that we could go see Frozen II as a family. So much fun seeing how excited the kids were to see it and we've been listening to the soundtrack nonstop since seeing it.

Thanksgiving

We started out our Thanksgiving morning with a little Turkey Trot up to the cemetery at the end of the road. We tried doing this last year as well but the wind was killer and we didn't make it. Although it was still quite cold this year, we were all really proud of ourselves for making it.

Had my parents do a quick family photo shoot for us. Nothing professional, which I would love, but I'm always grateful to have pictures of us altogether.

Just some sisterly bumps full of baby.

 So much delicious food.
As for desserts, this year we made Pumpkin Dump Cake (as always :), Chocolate Caramel Pecan Pie, Cherry Pie, Peanut Butter pie with honey salted whipped cream, and this AMAZING Apple Cranberry Pie that I will definitely be making again.

Belen saw my mom watching Harry Potter and turned herself in to Hermione with my dad's bathrobe and a tie. It was pretty adorable.
Playing Watch Ya Mouth, which is hilarious.

And then some Headbandz. We clearly like to make ourselves look as ridiculous as possible while playing games.
