October Little Things

She gives the best daddy snuggles. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just a little jealous.
Discovering a new hike in the new area of Ithaca where we live.

Scoping out family picture locations that never ended up happening. It was a good spot for a solo picture of Darin at least.

Goofin' around in their costumes all month long.
Homecoming fireworks were extra special this year after not watching fireworks for the 4th of July last year.

Fun afternoon making "soup" with these buddies of ours. So crazy to think that these kids were all just babies (two of them literally) when we moved to Ithaca.
Belen showing off Shae's Shining Star. Each kid in his class gets to be Shining Star for a week, where they get to be line leader and bring in pictures of themselves to go on the bulletin board so that they can learn about one another.
 Raspberry lover.
Helping out our sweet neighbor with the yard ditches with this old school lawn mower.
Treated myself to a little solo hike one day while Belen was at preschool and it was glorious. I thought about listening to music or a podcast, but in the end, what I really needed was a little silence mixed with the sounds of nature. It was a good time to reflect on a lot of things and ultimately just left me feeling extremely grateful for life and Jesus Christ.
After not having bikes for the past year, Shae was determined to figure out how to ride without training wheels, and he did it!

Took the kids to the Ithaca Children's Garden and we all loved it. It was so fun this fall to go to so many of our favorite places and soak them all in again now that we are home.

We went on a nice fall walk around campus one evening while Darin did a presentation. Such a beautiful campus that has a special place in our hearts.

Hanging out while we wait for Dad to finish.
So fun to see him in his element.

 Playdough and Hatchimals.
Missing all these beautiful colors right about now!
Started some online piano classes through the Hoffman Academy on youtube. It has been really fun to see the kids get excited about the piano.
When I came out one morning I found her sitting here reading in the quiet morning light. It's little moments like these that I want to remember most.
Lego building at the Science Center is Shae's kind of exhibit.

Wizarding weekend was such a disappointment this year since there was a lawsuit that inhibited them from using anything Harry Potter. Such a bummer!
The kids got balloons, so they were happy.
