Second Day in Bali

We woke up nice and early again on our second day so that we could catch a boat as part of our tour of Nusa Penida. A driver picked us up from our hotel at 6:30 a.m. and took us to Sanur where we waited a bit before being led to the boat.

We were told to take our shoes off and put them in these baskets. Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous about finding all of our shoes again. Thankfully, we did.

This boat ride was MUCH more pleasant than our boat ride to Thousand Islands.
We then got off our larger boat and took a smaller boat to the shore.

It was so cool to watch this volcano all morning.
Our tour consisted of visiting four different places on the island. We started off with Angel's Billabong. It was low tide, at first, so we were able to climb down and get a closer look. The waves really started to come in as we were taking pictures and everyone was being encouraged to get out, which we did. But not without both kids "falling" in the water first.

We walked a little further down to see our next attraction: Broken Beach. These views were just stunning. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to take some posey pose pictures. I especially love that sunscreen prop coming out of the shorts.

Somebody was a little hot and tired. I'll let you guess who.

The drive around the island was insanely bumpy with some crazy squeezes past other cars, but I loved all the driving. It was so nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city (not just of Jakarta, but even Bali felt that way) and to see so much beautiful nature.
Miraculously, she was able to fall asleep and stay asleep despite all the bumps. My arm was numb after awhile, trying to steady her head on each bump.

Before our next stop, we stopped at a little food shop and got some lunch. Our driver took us to the food shop where his wife cooks. It was cool to see him in the back playing with their baby while we ate fried rice and fried noodles, and stacked water bottles...

Kelingking beach was next. What I would have given to have been able to get down to that gorgeous sand and water. It was incredible.

While taking a family picture, our driver hopped up into a tree and climbed up a bit and asked us to hand him a phone. Not bad.
I love that Amelia got a shot of the driver up in the tree and what the picture looked like from eye level.

Final stop was Crystal Bay. It was the perfect ending to our tour as we got to jump right in to the beautiful water and have some fun.
Belen was not a big fan of all the waves that the Indian Ocean had to offer and mostly stuck to playing in the sand.

Having a little tea party with dad.

Darin may hate me for posting a picture of him with his eyes closed, but I just love him and I love the background and I just love this picture too much to not post it.

After the beach it was back to the dock to get back on our boat and make our way back to the hotel. Here we are with our sweet driver who took us all over the island.
On the way out of Sanur we passed these dragon fruit trees, which was just so cool to see! We have really been enjoying the dragon fruit here in Indonesia.
