Sunday we went and visited the Atlanta temple. We drove by some mansions on the way there, seriously, mansions. They were pretty impressive.
The temple was much smaller than I had expected. Being in the D.C. temple district for the past two years has made me forget that many other temples just aren't that big. (Being in the Palmyra temple district will surely be a huge reminder).
These two had a blast running around the grounds together "watering" the flowers with their sippy cups.
I love LOVED visiting this girl. It was so fun to catch up after so long, and get to know each others kids and husbands.
On Monday we packed up to go home. These kids had a blast together, when they weren't fighting over toys that is...
I say, "Smile!" And this is what I get. 100% toddler.
So grateful for the Johnsons for letting us stay with them. This trip wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for them.
We made a pit stop in Columbia, SC. We stopped to see the temple there as well. Also very small. But really beautiful. Shae was very excited to see "Wa-woni" again.
This girl got a much needed diaper change. She always gives us the biggest smiles when getting her diaper changed.
We stopped at Pawley's Front Porch for lunch. It was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives so we figured it much be good. And it was.
Darin got a massive burger with fried pickles on it. I got the Fried Green Tomato BLT, it was oh so good. We felt very southern eating fried pickles and tomatoes.
And then we drove home with this cute boy telling us how he needed his pillow, so he created one with his blankie.
So glad we did this trip. It was a needed break. (Although we paid for it with a crazy insane week of work and sicknesses when we got home).
