And that's how that went down. I couldn't get her to just sit back and relax. She kept crunching, trying to sit up, unsuccessfully. There was also a good bit of this going on:
For her 3 month birthday, this girl decided to sleep from 10:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., straight. AND, she managed to convince her brother to do the same. I like the way she celebrates. I had to wake her up at 8:30 so that we could take Darin to work. Who is this girl? I think we'll keep her.
And while we're talking about BelĂ©n’s sleep, let me just continue on for no one other than my future self who will someday care about reading all of this.
She usually wakes up for good around 8ish. She takes a good morning nap around 10 for an hour or two (This is usually taken while we are out and about running errands or at the park/library). She takes a fabulous afternoon nap around 1 p.m. that usually lasts somewhere around 2-3 hours (lately it's been 3). She then takes an okay evening nap around 6 p.m. that usually lasts about half an hour. We try to have her in bed asleep by 8:30/9 p.m. but she likes to come in and out of sleep at that time and sometimes just hangs out with us happily on the floor until closer to 10. It's a bit of a later schedule, but hey, I'll take it if she keeps sleeping until 8 a.m.
This can definitely vary depending on the day, but this is what it's looked like the past few days. She doesn't normally go the entire night without eating, in fact, last week in Atlanta was the first time she had gone from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. without eating and it was glorious. On a normal night, she'll wake up around 3ish and then again at 5ish. I don't love that those two feedings are so close, but when she throws in long nights without feedings every so often, I really don't have much to complain about.
Okay, now that that is out of the way.
The girl has finally discovered her fists.
She's also been rolling over for a few weeks now. Shae didn't roll over until he was 4 months so I've kind of been in shock that she is already rolling. Anytime we put her on the floor now, she immediately rolls onto her belly. She's also beginning to drool a good bit.
She still spits up pretty nonstop. Which has made rolling quite interesting considering she rolls, and then spits up, and then rubs her face in it. It's just darling.
She has outgrown just about all 3 month clothing and is mostly wearing 6 month clothing now. This yellow dress is 6-9 month.
She's starting to get a bit more sensitive with where she sleeps and noises and what not, but for the first half of the month all that mattered was that she was wrapped. If she was wrapped, she would sleep.
Whoever invented this swaddle pod is a genius.
Upgraded her bed from the pack n' play to an actual crib about 2 weeks ago.
I always lay her down vertically, but she always seems to get herself into this horizontal position somehow.
Went to the doctors twice this month. It was a long, rough, sick month for her. She finally seems to be over her nasty cold and her nose is mostly cleared up (thank goodness! I don't know how much more I could have handled. It broke my heart listening to her cough so much).
She was called Bah-lain and Bay-Lina this month. Baylina's got a nice ring to it, wouldn't you agree?
Basically we're head over heels in love with this little girl. She is just the most happy, chill baby. It's so easy to forget she's even around because she's just so great, not that we could ever forget that she's around, I mean, look at that face!
