Pumpkins pumpkins pumpkins

 

We took a trip to our favorite farm last month to pick out pumpkins. 

And of course we had to take a bunch of pictures of our little baby pumpkin on top of some pumpkins for the memories. 

These guys picked out some great pumpkins to take home.

We carved them for our Family Home Evening the Monday before Halloween. 

In years past the kids have always informed us what they wanted on their pumpkins and Darin would find and print off a template. They were usually pretty difficult, which meant that Darin and I did most of the work. This year the kids really liked the idea of creating their own template for their pumpkin faces and they even did most of the cutting on their own! 

Belén was pretty exited to stab her pumpkin all over for the "hair"

I love that she came up with that spooky mouth and scar across the eye all on her own.

We finished the evening by lighting our pumpkins and sharing a pumpkin roll treat. It was a perfect night leading up to Halloween.

I really love all that shiny "hair" on Belén's pumpkin :).
