Halloween Night

We weren't so sure what Halloween would look like this year, but it turned out to be perfect. Our neighborhood did a little costume parade around the loop. A lot of different families put pre-packaged candy bags out for the kids and cheered us on as we marched along. It was really fun!

Last Halloween we all decided that we wanted to do a Princess in Black theme for this year. We were a bit bummed we didn't have our normal church Halloween party to show off our costumes, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. Belén was the star of the show, the Princess in Black herself. I was Princess Sneezewort. Darin was Blackie, the pony. Emmy was our little monster in monster land. Shae was going to be the Goat Avenger for our church Halloween party and Pikachu for real trick or treating, and since we didn't have the party, there was no convincing him to be the Goat Avenger, which was fine.

The really nice thing about doing our neighborhood loop was that we did it early, at 4:45, so we were able to do that and then have plenty of time to come home and make our mummy dogs and watch some Halloween shows and enjoy our candy.

Belén got Zombie skittles in her load again. She got them last year and was so disgusted by them, just the thought of them, as she never actually ate them. There is a zombie flavored skittle in the bag which she thinks is the worst thing ever and how dare she get it again this year and not Shae.
I had been thinking that the kids would get less candy this year since we weren't going to be doing traditional trick-or-treating, boy was I wrong! Our neighbors really packed those candy baggies that they left out for the kids.
Which was good in the end, because it meant that we had plenty of candy to use to make our day-after-Halloween-candy village. (I mean, can you even imagine eating all those candy corn).
