September Little Things

Belén and I had a nice September date. We walked around Cornell's arboretum, fed some old bread to the fish, ate donuts at the lookout, and played princesses.

We went apple picking for the first time at Indian Creek Farm and it was so lovely.
Poor baby, going along with everything, even the big kid bums in her face :).

Picture for the memories...the phase of life where we all wore masks, and my postpartum baby hairs started to grow back after a long few months of insane hair loss.

Hanging out outside of the downtown library after a quick book pick up, with a dead van battery, in the 15 minute parking no less--which made me nervous to leave the car and walk around with the kids while waiting for Darin to finish a presentation and come to our rescue. (Needless to say that my plans of surprising him with lunch as a congrats for being done with this big presentation were spoiled).

Sadly, this was our second dead battery to replace within a month! The Camry battery died on me at work one evening a few weeks previous. (Loving that quote).
I love Emmy's little crossed feet while she kindly slept as we waited.

From one adorable sleeping bebe to another.

Final warm summer beach day of the year, although Belén continues to ask anytime we go somewhere with a body of water, "Did you bring my swimsuit!?" Even when it is 50 degrees outside. Belén was also very proud of this rock castle that she made.
Sister sweetness.
We never got around to going camping this year (baby? covid?), but the kids reeeeaalllly wanted a camping experience. The weekend before school started we put up the tent, played games, ate hot dogs and smores, and Darin slept outside with the kids. Poor guys got a little wet in the middle of the night due to rain and small rain fly...but they still loved it.

First time making homemade salsa, and first time Belén actually ever liked salsa.
Celebrating this girl's "happy half birthday," as she calls it. "Is it my happy half birthday yet?!"
Finally watched a beautiful sunset by the lake after a picnic dinner. I had been wanting to do this all summer, but we decided to wait until the sun went down a little earlier.

Playing at the Children's Garden.

First day of virtual school for me and the kids.

School picture complete with my backpack, er diaper bag :).
