Hike Date

Winters sure are long here in Ithaca. I remember thinking that last week of April, will these trees ever fill in?! And they finally have! Thank you May. The trees are now beautifully green and so full. Time to get out and hike and enjoy this lovely lovely scenery that surrounds us!

Darin and I were able to sneak away from the kids two weekends ago and enjoy a new hike on our own. There are just SO many state parks around us, and we've been to all of the ones right outside of Ithaca, so we decided to look out a little farther this time. We didn't have to look too far as we found Fillmore Glen State Park just 30 minutes away from our house. The short drive was nice as well, just enough time to start our Rob Lowe autobiography audiobook (Stories I Only Tell My Friends). We finally finished West Wing and are trying to hold on to those wonderful feelings as long as we can, so clearly listening to Sam Seaborne's voice as he tells Rob Lowe's life stories was the best way we could think to do that...

This hike was absolutely beautiful! I can't believe that I have never heard of it before!

This gorgeous waterfall was right at the bottom of the hike, you don't even have to hike anything to get to it!
There were 8 bridges like this throughout the hike, leading us from one side of the gorge trail to the other.

It was so nice to spend a morning together, especially since Darin had just taken his Comp Exam the Tuesday before, so we hadn't really seen each other much the past few weeks as he spent every waking hour prepping for it (He just found out this week that he passed!)
